Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: July 16, 2016
Standard Super League / best game qualifying tournament with score submissions from the first of the month to the last calendar day of that same month. The single best submitted score on each game by each player will be assigned points using the PAPA scoring scale (00/90/85/84/83…) to rank players against one another. At the end of the calendar month and all scores have been entered, players ranked 1-4 will be put into A devision and will compete for placements 1 through 4, players ranked 5-8 will be put into B devision and will compete for placements 5 through 8, players ranked 9-12 will be put into a C devision and will compete for placements 9 through 12, etc. Players absent or unable to attend the finals will be skipped and all players ranked lower than them will be shifted up one spot. Two groups of three players may occur in the lowest divisions depending on total player count and attendance.
Finals will always occur at 4pm the second Saturday of the following month; e.g. May’s super league finals are the second Saturday in June, June’s is the second Saturday in July, etc. Final tournaments always take place at 4pm on that second Saturday at Mortimer’s (2001 Lyndale Ave S. Minneapolis MN 55405). Each division will play a single 3 or 4 player game on each machine used in that month’s super league, and will be competing for the final tournament standings appropriate for their devision (A: 1-4, B: 5-8, C: 9-12, etc). Player order for the first game will be seed order in each devision, with successive games played in reverse finish order on the previous game. Finish order on each game is recorded for points (7/5/3/1 scoring), and after all games are played total point value will determine a player’s final tournament standing. Tournament point ties will be handled by the tournament director picking a game (using an electronic random number generator) and flipping a coin for player order. Finish order on the tiebreaker game will determine final tournament finish order.
Scores can be submitted to the league administrator via email (leagues@dgamuse.com), directly to the matchplay.events tournament, or by posting photos to the Facebook group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/1757409397811316/)
