Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: May 21, 2017
Each competitor plays 6 machines you will score one point for each player’s score you beat. Highest score is top seed, lowest score is bottom seed. For positioning in the next round, ties go to the player with the game with the most wins, if that is tied, second most wins and so on. If still tied, coin toss.
3-6pm
Qualifying-
League style play, all machines will be played. Players will divided evenly into A/B/ divisions. Any tie to determine A/B placement will be settled with a one game randomly picked tie breaker game. Groups will be formed based on the seeding from Round One, Top-Bottom-Middle-Middle. Top seed of the group chooses first game and plays first, second seed of the group plays second, third seed of the group plays third, fourth seed of the group plays fourth. Second seed of the group chooses the second game and plays first, third seed of the group plays second and so on until each player has selected a game and played first.
DO NOT play extra balls. Set up your skill shot, if applicable, plunge then hands off the machine.
10,6,4,2 scoring will be used. A Division will be made up of 4 player groups if a 3 person group is needed in B division scoring will be 10, 5, 2
two players from each grouping will be eliminated this round. The remaining players will continue to the final round, highest score is top seed, lowest score is bottom seed. For positioning in the next round, ties go to the player who was seeded higher in the previous round.
Don’t come in last.
7pm-Last (Wo)Man Standing
Elimination-
A series of four-player rock themed games in multiple divisions. 32 players in two divisions - split equally with 16 players in each division. B division will be shorted if the divisions cannot be equally divided.
The first game is played by the four lowest-seeded players. The highest-seeded player has choice of machines or order of play.
DO NOT play extra balls. Set up your skill shot, if applicable, plunge then hands off the machine.
The player who has the lowest score is eliminated from Finals. The next lowest-seeded player, who has not yet played, is added to the group for the next game.
In each subsequent match, the highest-seeded player (who will be the player who just joined the group) has choice of rock themed machine or order of play. The next choice is given to the winner of the previous game, and choice proceeds in descending order of score on the previous game.
No player may choose the same rock themed machine more than once, but any player may choose a machine already played, including the most recent machine played. Officials may remove or add any machine from consideration at any time.
Players will compete until each division has a Pinzzapalooza Champion.
Lazarus Bounce Back - Eliminated players in each division will have one more chance to come back through the flippers into finals. Eliminated players will have a single head-to-head game on a random pick machine (excluding rock themed), the winner of that match is still in the tournament and goes on to play the next eliminated player head-to-head. The winner of the head-to-head matches advances until the the final four at which time they reenter the competition as the last seed in the final four. So in essence, you could be first eliminated, win 8 consectutive head-to-head matches and still make finals.
