Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: July 30, 2022
Players will complete 9 holes for qualifying. Each game, or “hole,” will have a target objective. Players must try to reach that objective in as few balls as possible. Games will be set to 5 balls and if players do not reach the objective in 5 balls, they will score a 6.
People will be assigned a group to play with for qualifying and they will record their scores and hand them to the tournament director. Approximately the top 12 players (depending on the turnout) will advance to A division playoffs. Approximately 4 players will qualify for B division playoffs. B division will be restricted to players who are not ranked in the IFPA top 500.
During the playoffs, there will be four player groups. If we have at least 24 total players, we will take 12 players to A division playoffs and the top 4 seeds will receive a bye. 3 games will be played each round. We will continue to use Pin-Golf scoring. The best 2 players from each group will advance to the next round until there are only 4 players remaining. The final 4 players will play another round of 3 games, which will determine the final ranking of each player.
In the event of a tie that affects whether a player can advance to the next round, or a tie that affects the top 4 finishers in the finals, a game will be selected by the tournament director to be used as a tie breaker. The players will play a normal multiplayer game where the player with the highest score after 3 balls (for a modern game) or 5 balls (for an EM) will win the tie breaker.
Players are encouraged to select “going” on the Facebook event page as soon as they decide to attend. They also may email Keri at keriwing@gmail.com to say that they are attending. People can also get the address for the event, which is a private residence through Facebook or by emailing Keri.
Game selection will be a combination of games from all eras from the 1950’s to the present day.
Doors open at 12pm and tournament play starts at 1pm. Entry is $10. $1 will go to the IFPA and all other money will be paid out.
