9AM Tournament Starts
Tournament will use all 100+ Pinball Machines inside District 82 Pinball. Each round will alternate the era of game played on. Odd Rounds will be LCD/DMD games Even Rounds will be Classics/EM games.
The Format will consist of 13 Rounds of Play in groups of 4 players (3 players if necessary).
One game will be played per round per group.
Scoring will be 7-5-3-1/7-4-1
First round will be random seeding.
Subsequent rounds will be seeded using a Tiered Swiss Pairings if available in Match Play Software. If not available we will be using Swiss. Players are grouped into tiers that narrow as the tournament progresses. Later rounds will seed players with similar points accumulated playing each other. No lunch break today. The winner is the player with the most points after all 13 rounds have been completed.
Only a tie for 1st place will be broken with a 1 GAME tie breaker for the affected players. No playoffs or finals. Automatic Tiebreakers (if available in Match Play Software) will be turned on and will supersede any tie other than a tie for 1st place. If there is a tie between 2nd-8th position it will be broken with a 1 BALL game tie breaker for the affected players to determine the trophy and/or cash received. To be clear a tiebreaker will only occur if the software says you are tied. If someone finishes with the same amount of points as someone else but Match Play gives those players distinct finishing positions from the Automatic Tiebreakers being turned on, we will go with what the match play software says. Tiebreaker game will be randomly selected and the game itself could be either classic. When reporting this to IFPA for points those ties will be reported as such except a tie for 1st place. Also the overall series points will be a tie as well. 1st Place is significant and will be reported as a win and not a tie. No playoffs or finals.
