Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: August 19, 2023
This is the monthly tournament at Pizza West in Shawnee that occurs every third Saturday at 5pm. For 2023 we are going to be rotating through a few different formats to keep things interesting. Entry will still be $5 and all money will be paid out to the field of players. IFPA fees are sponsored by the operators. A trophy will be awarded for first place each month.
Format
In August we will use the Fair Strikes format. Players will be assigned to a group of four players and a machine using Match Play software. The winner of each game will receive no strikes, 2nd and 3rd place will receive 1 strike, and 4th place will receive 2 strikes. Once everyone finishes their first game, we will start round 2 and everyone will be assigned another game. Players continue playing until they receive 6 strikes and they are knocked out of the tournament. The last player remaining is the winner. Match play will determine final rankings for the other players based on which round they were knocked out and how many strikes each player has. If needed, ties will be broken on a single game chosen by the tournament director.
