Come out of your coffin and join Chad & Marianne for a FangTastical evening of Frightfully Flipping Pinball Fun!!!
Bring your own brews and potions, however we will have some spooktacular concoctions brewing for everyone to consume.
****NOTE - Costumes are encouraged, even if you simply wear a clown nose or a fake mustache, but not required.
****THIS EVENT WILL USE THE CRITICAL HIT CARD FORMAT****

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE - The entire basement has been transformed into a haunted arcade. Please be aware that during the entire tournament there will be flashing lights, Halloween music playing, and occasional fog.
When: 10/25/25
Where: 147 Paysan Lane, Magnolia DE 19962
Time: Doors open at 5pm. Tournament begins at 6pm. Finals start time will be around 9:30pm and will end around 11:30pm. Party expires at 1am!
Cost: $30 ($15 will go to the prize fund/trophies, $1 to the IFPA and the remaining $14 will go towards expenses and refreshments). Entry must be paid in full using Paypal's Friends & Family after you secure your Eventbrite ticket. Please send all payments to firststateflippers@gmail.com
Players: Capped at 36 players
Registration: All registration is handled through Eventbrite. Registration goes live on 9/7 at 8pm through Eventbrite. When registering on Eventbrite you are allowed to buy up to 2 tickets at once. When signing up for the waitlist, you can only sign up one person at a time.

Each player will receive 2 Critical Hit Cards when they check in. Everyone checking in has the opportunity to roll a D20 and receive an extra Critical Hit Card! There will also be other ways to win/earn Critical Hit cards throughout the tournament.
Qualifying Format: Group Match Play for 7 rounds using Critical Hit Cards. Top 8 will make "A" finals. Everyone else will make "B" finals. Critical Hit cards CAN BE USED IN THE "A" FINALS.
"A" Finals Format: Modified PAPA finals. 3 games total. 2 players will advance from each group.
"B" Finals format: 2-strike group knockout.

**What's Critical Hit?**
At its core, Critical Hit is a fun way to incorporate a skill modifier system into a standard pinball tournament. Players are given cards that each have different effects that can be used to change the outcome of games. These cards are similar to Magic the Gathering and have spells and effects similar to Dungeons & Dragons.
Generally speaking, the better an individual player performs during the tournament, the more they will be targeted by other players, which serves to even the playing field for everyone.
Players start the tournament with a hand of 2 randomly drawn cards, and can receive additional cards by completing unique objectives or challenges assigned to each pinball machine and random bounties. For example, if you play Aerosmith and start a 4-ball Multiball you will earn a spell card.
When each player checks in they will have an opportunity to roll a D20 die, if you roll a 20 you earn a free card!
Everything else is more or less the same as a regular match-play tournament with group-elimination playoffs to determine a winner.
As with all things pinball, there are a few more layers to this onion but if you go into the tournament knowing only these things, you'll still have a fun time.
