Seaside Champ is the two day annual open group match play championship organized by Monterey Flipper Pinball at Lynn’s Arcade in Seaside, CA 5. Seaside Champ V is an IFPA endorsed tournament limited to 72 players.

Friday December 12th

4pm - Doors Open
7:30pm - Strikes Tournament ($5 cash buy in with cash prizes for the top players)
9pm to Midnight - DJ party / practice those games

Saturday December 13th

9am - Doors/Warm up
10:30am - Seaside Champ IV: Qualifying
2pm-3pm - Break
7p-8p - Break

Sunday December 14th

10:30am - Doors/warm up
11am - Seaside Champ V: Playoffs

Pre Registration will open up on November 28th at 10a on Matchplay
Limited to 72 players

Tickets Are $150 paid at the door and include entry to Lynn’s Arcade Friday, Saturday and Sunday. No coin drop the arcade is on free play

All Games TBD, expect a 50/50 mix of classic and modern games. 36 for qualifying with 4 back up.

Food will be provided on Saturday at 2pm (ish) by Taco Bout It!

Please note, we are a live arcade. Lot’s of folks having fun and being loud! Music will be playing and you will have folks playing in close proximity to you during all the tournaments for the whole weekend. This isn’t your hotel board room, so quiet you can hear a pin drop tournament setting. Think of it as more of pinball party! We’ll have games streaming on the tv with cheering, hooting and hollering! Folks generally having a good time. Ya know!

We have an excellent selection of craft beers, hard seltzers, hard kombucha and a whole slew of craft sodas, regular kombucha and of course Liquid Death!

Outside food is permitted in the arcade at any time, so if you want to bring snacks or meals go right on ahead. The only outside beverage allowed in the arcade is water.

There are plenty of hotel, restaurant and coffee options close to the arcade. Much of them are pretty affortable. Google is your friend.

Parking is in the large lot behind the main lot on Fremont blvd. If you take Echo you will see Sanctuary Rock Gym on the right. Park anywhere in the large lot. It’s free all day.

***Lynn's Arcade will be closed to the public on Saturday. On Sunday Lynn's is closed to the public until finals are finished. (players from the tournament are allowed to come in on Sunday with limited games for play)

Seaside Champ V

Saturday Dec. 13th Qualifying. Doors/check in/ warm ups at 9a, Hard Start 10:30a.

20 Rounds of group matchplay qualifier
4 players per group
Balanced Arena draws swapping from Bank A (Modern) to Bank B (Classic) every round
Tierd Swiss Pairing
Top 24 move on to Sunday Papa style finals
Top 8 get a bye round
Meaningful Ties will be broken by playing 1 game randomly selected.
No game play allowed between rounds.
We will be doing two 1hr breaks during qualifying

Sunday Dec. 14th Finals. Doors/check in warm ups 10a, Hard start 11a.

There will be a few games set aside for finalists to warm up on outside of the tournament games selected for finals.

Papa Style Finals Format
4 player groups
4 games per round
Top seeds will get choice of games
Game choice will be 2 games from Bank A and Two Games from Bank B
Position Choice on first round will be selected from top seed to lowest seed, all following game positions will be chosen by last to first from previous game.
There will be a few games set aside for finalists to warm up on outside of the tournament games selected for finals
No game play allowed between rounds on tournament games
