Tournament Overview

Games will be classic late 80’s and 90’s Era

Sunday Qualifying
10:00 am - 3:00 PM.
No qualifying games start after 3:00 PM.

Entry is free, $20 which entitles the player ten qualifying game tickets to be used on any combination of the 6 classic tournament machines, minimum 4 different games must be played. No buy ins. Best game on the each machine qualifies.

Registration officer will collect player names, IFPA ranking (if any) phone number, email address.

Scores will be ranked as follows:
Highest Score On The Day (per machine) =100 points
Second Highest = 90 Points
Third Highest = 85 points
Forth Highest = 84 points
Then points reduce by 1 point per position.

Match Play Event Software will be used and there will be a large LCD screen on location to display standings.

In the event that 2 qualifiers are tied on points, a one game head to head tie breaker game will be played shortly after 3PM on a game of the tournament directors choosing.

The 8 highest scoring qualifiers proceed to finals, however 16 finalists will be chosen if 32 + people qualify. If less than 16 players qualify, the highest ranking 50% of the field (rounded down) will be selected for finals. If more than 80 people qualify, extra finalists positions will be opened up to ensure at least 10% of the field qualify.

Format - Bracket - All games on Free Play
First round groups will be configured based on seeded rankings in the following manner.

Player finals - initial groupings seeded based on qualifying results

Group 1 = 1,8,9,16
Group 2 = 2,7,10,15
Group 3 (if needed) 3, 6, 11, 14
Group 4 (If needed) 4, 5, 12, 13

The game each group will play in each round of the finals will be selected by the highest ranking finalists from that group - including grand final. The 1st round finals games vote will be conducted at the end of qualifying.

Finals are 3 sudden death rounds. All 4 or 3 player games, including the grand final. Second highest seed chooses the playing order of each round.

Round 1 - Consists of 2 (or 4) groups of 4 players. Each group plays a single game in 4 player mode.

The player with the lowest score from each group is eliminated all remaining players continued into round 2.

Round 2 - players remain in the same groupings. 2 or 4 groups of 3 players, the highest seeded player in each group choses their preferred game in order.

If this round consists of only 2 groups then then player with the lowest score from each group is eliminated leaving 4 players.

If it consists of 4 groups then it’s a double elimination round and the two players with the lowest scores in each group are eliminated leaving 4 players.

Round 3 - Grand Final
4 persons (seeded).
1 game played on the game of the highest seeded finalists choice. Order of play chosen by second highest seeded finalist.

1st to 4th place awarded based on this single game outcome.

In the unlikely event of a tie (in any round) between 2 finalists, a single tie breaker game will be played on a machine selected by the highest seeded player - 3 ball head to head - order of play selected by the lowest seeded player.

Trophy’s and prize money will be awarded for top 4 finishers. Prize money is derived from 50% of all cash collected, after cost of trophies is deducted, and is split 50%, 25%, 15%, 10% for top four.

Venue will keep 50% of takings.

A special encouragement prize will be awarded to the highest ranked non qualifier
on Sunday.
