Tournament Overview

Tournament Date: September 02, 2018

WV Pinball Flipper Frenzy @ Starport Arcade and Pub

September 2, 2018 @ 1:00 PM ~ 4:00PM

$5 per player. 100% of entry fees will be paid back as prizes. The $1 IFPA endorsement fee will be covered by Drop Catch Gaming.

An IFPA Sanctioned Event! This event will feature head to head play where the total number of games played will vary based upon participation, games chosen, and player skill.

First, two players are drawn randomly to play on each available machine. The number of machines used will be based on the number of participants. The remaining players will be placed in a central queue. When a game is completed:

The LOSER will stay on the SAME machine, unless he/she has lost twice consecutively, in which case the winner will stay on that machine.

The player leaving the machine will move to the bottom of the queue.

The player staying on the machine will play in the same position (P1/P2) as they played in the previous game.

The player at the front of the queue will move into the game that first becomes available.

At the end of 2.5 hours, no more games may start and the player with the highest number of wins will be declared the winner. Ties are broken by fewest losses. If still a tie then a single game tiebreaker.

The payout structure is as follows:

1st: 50% of total entry fees
2nd: 30% of total entry fees
3rd: 20% of total entry fees

This event is also eligible for the IFPA Up The Irons Championship! A brief description of the Iron Maiden event:

Authorized IFPA members will email photos of their high scores to ifpapinball@gmail.com. All photos must include a picture of the player’s face, their score on the LCD. Please also include the name, city and country of the location of the event.

Only scores recorded during the actual Stern Army sanctioned event are eligible for this tournament. Practice games or games played at Stern Army locations outside of the sanctioned tournament itself will not be eligible.

Players have 72 hours after the IFPA sanctioned event takes place to submit their high score photo into the IFPA.
The player with the highest score will be the “Beast” until another player tops the score. Other places will be 2) Cyborg Eddie, 3) Piece of Mind Eddie, 4) Aces High and 5) Clairvoyant, and other Legacy of the Beast characters.

The player with the highest score as of midnight Chicago-time on December 31, 2018, will claim the “Legacy of the Beast” title, playfield, translite and t-shirt.
The top nine runner-ups will receive Iron Maiden related prizes (signed translites, shirts, and more)
