Mariya Woods Fundraiser
We will have a pinball tournament Saturday July 20 at 2pm to support our friend Shannon Egnor's sister Mariya Woods and her family.
This will be a 3 strikes knockout event and donated prizes for the top finishers include 2 pinball translites! $10 entry fee (donation) plus coin drop.
Appetizers, 50/50 drawing and lots of fun. Read Mariya's story below.
Hello, my name is Mariya F. Woods. I'm a pretty typical 41 year old married Woman, Mother and Grandmother. Life has been good to me, many challenges but over all everything that has came my way has made me a better Woman overall. About 5 years ago I went into the ER with major back pain and to make a long story short it was my gallbladder.
Now that I think about it, my enlarged gallbladder saved my life. They discovered during that visit, I have a Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm ×2 requiring open heart surgery and placement of a synthetic Aorta section. This is happening at the IU Medical Center on July 23rd. This came about so fast. At previous check ups the condition seemed steady. This was so rapid that I'm forced to do something I've never done before and humbly ask that if any assistance is available that it may be sent my way in this time of need.
My family and I will sincerely need any extra help I can get. There will be a heavy financial impact and hardship on my family losing income until I have recovered, which will be a 4 month long process. I will be on life support for first 3 days following my surgery and hospitalized for 14+ days thereafter based on my recovery potential.
Although I am terrified, what scares me the most is losing my income for my family for up to 4 months solid, could be longer. We do not live above our means and wished never to seek assistance, but as the surgery fast approaches we have found it necessary to reach out at this serious time of need in hopes of aid in this unexpected journey.
Many thanks and our love to all who consider coming to the event or donating as there are so many requests now a days that we want to thank you for taking the time to even consider and look forward to meeting each and every one of you if possible.
