The I/O Arcade Bar is a bar for geeks who drink with a gaming problem. Madison Pinball hosts a monthly tournament every third Thursday of the month at the I/O Bar. The I/O has a lineup of 12 pinball machines that range from classic Bally/ Williams titles to the newest machines from Stern.

Players qualify through 6 rounds of the Match Play format. The top 4 qualifiers go on to play in a 7 game match playoff. The remainder of the participants play 2 rounds of head to head play to determine position in their quartile (ie, positions 5-8 play to determine their final rank, players 9-12 playoff, etc). Registration starts by 6:45 the night of the tournament. Play begins promptly at 7pm. All but the top 4 competitors are usually done around 9:30pm.
