Qualifying:

- Groups of 4: 7-5-3-1
- Groups of 3: 7-4-1
- Overall points will determine seeding for Finals.

Number of players who make finals will depend on total participants:
Up to 16 players: The top 4 will move on to the finals.
17-31 players: Top 8 make the finals.
32+ players: Top 16 make the finals.

Finals:
Top qualifiers will play 3 rounds of group Match Play until down to the Final 4 Players who will play 3 rounds of Match Play with place determined by aggregate score for those final 3 rounds.

Scoring: 7-5-3-1
Cash will be paid out at the end of the tournament based on total player count: Top 25% (or top 4 whichever is greater) of finishers shall receive cash.

GAME ASSIGNMENTS PER ROUND:
In order to minimize wait times each round, we will be grouping each game type of arenas together per round. In other words, one round will be all EM’s. Another will be all Solid State machines, etc. This allows each round to finish about the same time (vs a quick EM game waiting for a long playing modern group to complete) and therefore each round should complete more efficiently which allows us to play more rounds overall.

THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND:
This is a public venue and it will be open to customers who are not playing in the tournament. Therefore, groups may have to wait for their assigned machine to free up if someone is playing it. Where practical, we may display signage indicating machines are tournament machines in the event someone is repeatedly playing a tournament machine. Management or a TD will gently encourage anyone playing too long on a machine to try another game if tourney players are waiting for them to complete their current game. Similarly, please be aware you may have non-tournament and tournament participants playing next to you from time to time.

The machines will be play-tested prior to the event and their repair tech team will be focused on getting everything in tip top shape leading up to the tournament as well plus a tech is planning to be on-site during the tournament. That all said, these machines are played daily and just like any on-location machine, there likely will be some that don’t play 100% perfectly. The Tournament Director will make rulings in accordance with IFPA rules regarding malfunctions.

Games will NOT be modified physically (like removing rubbers, etc. to make them harder) although games that have a Competition Mode setting may be enabled. Basically, for most games we will “play it as it lies” as they say.

The Silverball Museum is a family-friendly facility. Children are encouraged to play in the tournament when accompanied by an adult. Since non tourney players will be around as well, please be mindful of your conduct while playing especially if you get 2 house balls in a row ;-) remember you still have ball 3!

If any of these things are problematic for someone, then this may not be the tournament for them. As you can see based on the length of this announcement, we endeavor to be as up front as possible about expectations and how the event will be conducted. For more information and questions see the website link for the VillageBBS posting for this event.
