Tournament Overview

Registration for this tournament opens on September 22, 2023

Tournament Date: October 13, 2023

I AM HOSTING AN IFPA TOURNAMENT IN MY BASEMENT!!!!! (and living room)

Sign-up link will be posted on the facebook event page on Friday, September 22 at 6pm.

It's called "The Dojo Dozen" in reference to the approximate WPPR value (going for max TGP and a 20 player cap. I think that'll be about 12 WPPR's. If you don't know what that means, don't even worry about it).

20 players maximum. Signup will be posted on the facebook event page on Friday, September 22 at 6pm. There will be a wait list as well. We NEED 16 players for this to count for IFPA points, and 20 players for the title to make sense, so please let me know if you are signed up but can't make it. Anybody with the link can sign up for this tournament, but if I don't know them personally I will contact them and vet them within my network of people I DO know. I reserve the right to deny anybody entry to my tournament roster without explanation.

People with the invite on fb can invite friends to the fb event, but nobody has permission to attend on the day of the tournament unless they are officially on the posted roster that day.

Tournament starts as close to 8pm sharp as possible. No clue how late it will go, but everyone can stay as long as they want. You can even try to find a spot to camp on the floor afterward if you get too wild.

Format details:
Target matchplay qualifying: scored 7/5/3/1 or 7/4/1. The target score is 70 to ensure we have at least 10 rounds of qualifying (but probably more like 12 or 13). This may sound like a lot, but with only 20 players and more than half of the games being solid states I don't think it will take too long.
First 8 players to reach the target score of 70 will qualify for finals. Finals is a double-elimination head to head bracket with best-of-3 matches. All standard IFPA rules will be followed. Extra balls will be turned off.

There will be some kind of optional prize pool ($ amount TBD). Payouts depend on number of people who buy in. Otherwise, cost to enter is $5.
