Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: October 19, 2024
It's the season of witch! Belles & Chimes SATX is hosting its annual max matchplay tournament to celebrate Halloween! Tournament is open to women of all ages and skill levels! Tournament fee is $10 per person plus coin drop. Cash prizes to the top 4 players. Costumes are encouraged - and prizes will be awarded! Registration begins at 4:30PM and tournament starts at 5:00PM. Tournament is limited to 64 players. Players must commit to playing all matches and must not leave the tournament until they have played all 12 qualifying matches.
QUALIFYING: Players will be paired against random opponents for 12 head to head matches. Players will be awarded a point for each win. Players with the most number of wins will advance to the finals. The number of players participating will determine the number of players advancing to the finals.
TIEBREAKERS: Ties will only be broken when a player's participation in the finals is impacted. The tie will be settled by a one game tiebreaker, with the game randomly selected. Ties that impact whether or not the involved players will advance will be settled by a one game tiebreaker selected at random. Inconsequential ties will not be broken
SEEDING: Seeding will be determined based on player's qualifying results. Any ties among potential qualifiers who did not play in a tiebreaker will be determined by the strength-of-opponents as calculated by Matchplay.Events.
FINALS: The finals will be played in a Pinburgh style bracket. Top seeds will have the option to select a bank of 4 games. Each bank will typically consist of a modern machine (2010-present), a mid-DMD (1993-2009), a solid state, and an EM. For each game points will be awarded based on the player's finishing position (3, 2, 1, 0).
The top seed picks the games (or may opt to pass their pick) and chooses order for game 1, remaining order is determined by seed with the next highest ranked player choosing order next. For subsequent games the order is determined by the outcome of the prior game, with the lowest ranked player choosing first.
The top two players in each group proceed to the next round. Significant ties are broken by a one ball game chosen by the TD.
