Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: October 30, 2024
Group Match Play Tournament consisting of group match play in groups of 4 players (and 3 players as well if the total number of players is not divisible by 4). Maximum of 32 players are allowed in the tournament. Cost to enter: $10. Tournament will be held at Eight on the Break in Dunellen, NJ starting at 7:30 PM. No preregistration necessary.
The scoring system used will be 5-3-2-1. For 4-player groups, first place gets 5 points, second place gets 3 points, third place gets 2 points, and last place gets 1 point. For 3-player groups, first place gets 5 points, second place gets 3 points, and last place gets 1 point. The MatchPlay software will handle the scoring for each player.
For the first round, players will be randomly assigned to groups and in subsequent rounds, players will be playing other players with the same or similar point totals. A minimum of 6 rounds will be played in this manner after which the top players in the tournament are determined. The tournament will be over after the last round is played.
Top 4 players get a medal and the top 4-8 players (depending on the number of players participating) get a cash prize as well.
