The DPC Presents the Stern Army Uncanny X-Men Launch Party
November 3, 2024 - 1pm at the Delaware Pinball Collective. Doors open at 12. Please arrive by 12:30.
Cost if $5 for members and $25 for non-members.
QUALIFYING:
5 rounds w/2 games per round of 4-player matchplay. The top 8-16 will qualify for finals, based on the number of participants.
Matchplay scoring will be 7-5-3-1 each game. Qualifying may be extended based upon the number of players. This will be determined before the start of the tournament.
FINALS:
Modified PAPA-style format with pre-selected/assigned banks of 4 games (1 for tiebreaker) and 4-2-1-0 scoring on 3 games per match.
DRAFT BANK SELECTION:
Game selection will be decided by the players using a 'draft'. Games will arranged in numbered banks with each bank containing one 'older' pin and one 'newer' pin. There will be the same number of banks as participating players.
Before the start of the tournament, players will be randomly assigned a draft order.
The draft will begin with the first randomly chosen player, who will then choose a bank. That bank belongs to that player and is removed from the selection. The draft continues until the last bank is selected.
During the the tournament, both groups and order will be balanced.
The arena of each group will be the chosen bank of player one in that group.
Each player will have a minimum of one round on their selected bank. Some players will play their bank twice. This is randomly selected by the software.
Bank overlap will dealt with on a case-by-case basis as to not slow down play.
All meaningful ties will be determined by a skill-based method TDB.
