Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: November 01, 2024
Join us for some "MINTY" MATCHPLAY where we host yet another BEGINNER FRIENDLY Pinball Tournament! ????
Entry is just $10, with all games on FREE PLAY with no coins required! As an added bonus, each competitor will receive one pack of gum so they can STAY FRESH! This is the most affordable IFPA tournament in the DFW area this weekend and you can even BYOB! To add to the fun, we encourage you to bring something mint-flavored or mint-themed, or wear something mint-related to help us keep it MINTY! Since kids may be present, we kindly ask that, instead of cursing when a game doesn’t go your way, you shout "IT'S MINT!" instead.
- DOORS OPEN AT 6:30 PM for Practice until 7:20 PM.
- MEETING at 7:20 PM to review format and answer questions.
- GROUP PHOTO after the meeting.
- COMPETITION begins at/as close to 7:30 PM as possible; we intend to be prompt. Late entrants are welcomed until approximately 9PM.
This is a BEAT THE CLOCK tournament featuring a THREE-HOUR qualifying period, followed by AMAZING RACE finals. The qualifying period will be TIMER-BASED, actual end time of qualifying may vary slightly depending actual start time of round 1. We will be using 7/5/3/1 scoring for qualifying.
We will take a short break and then the TOP 8 QUALIFIERS will compete in the AMAZING RACE Finals. In this format, all 8 finalists will play game 1, with the worst score being eliminated. Game 2 proceeds the same way with 7 players, game 3 with 6 players, and so on. This continues until game 7, where the final two players battle it out head to head to determine who gets to take home the MINTIEST AND FRESHEST TROPHY in ALL of PINBALL!
Bottled water and some soda will be provided, but feel free to bring any additional food or drinks you'd like to enjoy yourself or share with the group, especially if it's mint-flavored or related! Alcohol is fine, but we insist that you consume responsibly and/or ensure that you have a transportation solution.
We’re likely making mac and cheese again, along with possibly another dish. We’ll update the event's discussion tab with more details as we get closer. If you plan to bring something, we encourage you to share it in the discussion tab as well, so everyone knows what’s coming! ????
Smoking tobacco or "legal" cannabis products in the backyard fine; take care to avoid getting your hot ashes on the dry grass and please dispose of any waste properly.
ALLERGY NOTICE: We do have a dog and two cats; they will be in a separate room for the majority of the event. We will likely let the dog outside before finals; she is well behaved and should not be a nuisance.
