The people have asked for Sunday tournaments. The people have asked for shorter tournaments. So let’s try it. We want to see all you shorter time commitment people show up and we’ll run more shorter tournaments! And everyone has a chance to win some money coming back!
A unique 3-strike knockout tournament! Upon entry, every player will receive 3 poker chips worth $5 each. We will play 4 player match play games — in the first two rounds, groups will be Balance Paired, from 3rd round on they will be Swiss Paired. If you come in 3rd or 4th in a 4 player group (or 3rd in a 3 player group), you will earn a strike. Players in position 3 and 4 will also give a chip to the players in positions 1 and 2 (3 players: 3rd gives a chip to 1st). After you’re eliminated, turn any remaining chips in and get $5 back for every chip you have remaining!
We anticipate roughly 12 rounds of play — though some players will be eliminated earlier than others! We anticipate the last players will wrap up around 5pm, and the first players eliminated will be around 2pm. Everyone is welcome to stick around and play on games not used/not immediately next to a game in progress!
