Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: May 04, 2025
NAME: Silverball Sundays #18 - Star Wars Day, for kids and youth
TIME: Tournament play beginning at 1:00 for up to two hours. Players should arrive by 12:30 to register.
AGE LIMIT: In honor of Star Wars Day, this is a tournament specifically for kids and youth. Players must be 19 AND YOUNGER. All young people are welcome, including those who need a stool in order to reach the flippers!
FORMAT: All games will be set on three-ball play, with extra balls disabled. Each round will be made up of head-to-head matchups as determined by Match Play computer software, with up to 10 rounds expected. Although this is a tournament specifically for kids and youth, for each round, players will have the option to choose an adult partner and play the round with a "split flippers" approach--meaning the two partners work together while playing, with one partner using the right flipper and one partner using the left flipper.
No player will be knocked out of the competition. At the end of the tournament, the player with the most points is the winner of the GRAND PRIZE. A tiebreaker to determine the top finisher will be played if needed.
COST: There is no cost, and all games will be set on FREE PLAY for the tournament.
PRIZES: The GRAND PRIZE for the top finisher is a Star Wars poster from Stern Pinball, measuring 25 inches by 18 inches, in a lit frame! All players will receive prizes by way of a random drawing at the end of the tournament. Those prizes will include such things as toy cars, comic books, gift cards, stickers, and gift bags!
FOOD AND DRINK: No outside food and drink allowed. Axemann Brewery includes two food venues, and free water is provided.
REGISTRATION: Registration will be the day of the event. No preregistration is required, but if you plan to come for sure, feel free to email Joe Schall, tournament co-director, so we can get a probable head count. Joe’s email is U3W@psu.edu.
