Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: July 22, 2025
Opening up Pinburgh 2024 week, the Pittsburgh Pinball Dojo is hosting a really fun classics tournament featuring 10 rounds of 1v1 Max Matchplay Qualyfing, and then a "Racetrack" Amazing Race finals!
$10 tournament entry + Dojo admission. All games set to free play. Dojo will be open until midnight or end of tournament, whichever is later. Doors open at 6pm, tournament starts at 7pm.
Matchplay Qualifying: Everyone will have 10 games of head-to-head classics (pre-1985 game era) matches. Machines and opponents will be determined via the Match Play software.
Estimated qualifying run time is 2-2.5 hours, with an estimated end time between 9-9:30 PM.
After all players have played 10 matches, the top 8 players in wins will proceed at the ‘Pro’ playoffs, and the next 8 players whose IFPA ranks are above 1250 will be eligible for ‘Amateur’ playoffs. Any significant ties at the end of qualifying (top seed for each division, making a division) will be decided by a 1 game playoff on a randomly chosen classics-era game.
Amazing Race Finals: Top ‘Pro’ qualifier will select any starting (classics) machine for the finals. Subsequent games will proceed clockwise around the Dojo, using only classics-era games (front right of the upstairs room will proceed to the front left of the lower room. Front right of the lower room will proceed to the front left of the upper room). A list will be provided with clockwise game order in order to assist with bank selection.
